About the Game
Destroyers is a retro-styled medieval survival game rendered on HTML5 Canvas. You command a squad of warriors marching down an endless road, battling wave after wave of enemies. Collect upgrades, recruit squad members, and unleash powerful special weapons to survive as long as possible.

Game Features
Wave-Based Combat
Fight through escalating waves of enemies that grow stronger and more numerous. How far can you push your squad?
Special Weapons
Collect cannons, missiles, and mines to unleash devastating attacks. Press Space to fire your special ammo at the right moment.
Squad Building
Recruit additional squad members as you progress. A larger squad means more firepower but also more to protect.

How to Play
- 1Use A/D or Arrow Keys to move your squad left and right across the road
- 2Your squad fires automatically - position them to hit enemies marching toward you
- 3Press Space to fire special weapons (cannons, missiles, and mines) when you have ammo
- 4Collect upgrades and recruit new squad members to increase your power
- 5Survive as many waves as possible and submit your score to the leaderboard
Touch controls: Tap the left or right side of the screen to move. Tap the center to fire special weapons.
How It Was Built
Destroyers started as a pair programming exercise with elementary school students, designed to show kids the power of AI-assisted development. Working side by side with a developer, the students described the game they wanted to build — a medieval battle game with warriors, enemies, special weapons, and a high score leaderboard — and then watched their ideas come to life in real time through AI-powered coding.
The students made creative decisions at every step: choosing the medieval theme, picking the pixel-art style, designing the upgrade system, and deciding which special weapons to include. They learned how to break a big idea into smaller pieces, how to describe what they wanted clearly enough for AI to understand, and how iteration turns a rough concept into a polished product.
The result is a fully playable game — complete with a Go backend, React frontend, online leaderboards, and touch controls — that was designed by kids and built with AI. Destroyers is a showcase of what happens when young imaginations meet modern development tools.
